Software Analyst/Developer

Software Analyst/Developer

Information Technology Department

The Software Analyst/Developer is responsible for developing Java-based software following the agile methodology of extreme programming in a team setting.

General Responsibilities

The qualified candidate will:

Understand and embrace the concept of Test Driven Development (TDD).
Participate in departmental activities, including providing presentations and mentoring, coaching and assisting others.
Assist the team in order to better understand story cards presented.
Ensure that documentation is current and accurate, using Wiki and other appropriate media.
Participate in problem analysis and resolution.
Perform tasks, as part of a team or alone under assignment, within the schedule.
Perform duties with accuracy.
Use all features of development tools available.
Stays current with technology, self training as well as company training to include but not limited to Java, Web development and other Object Oriented Methodologies.
Execute and analyze unit and integration test(s) for the program modifications prior to the release to QA99 (acceptance testing). This will include test scripts and Move instructions.
Follow information technology policies and procedures as written.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

Three years of software development experience beyond formal education, with heavy concentration in Java and open source frameworks.
A college degree (preferred minimum of a bachelor's degree).
Working knowledge of database structures and concepts.
Excellent soft skills and be able to work and communicate with fellow team members.
